Steps in time

Where the spring flows beneath,
A deep blue streak cuts across
The snow white of the pond.
 At the edge leaves are frozen,
 Like fossils in the ice;
No rake wanted in the woods.
Like some strange unknown,
 Over the hills comes the distant Hoot of an old mountain train
 From a time before and a time after
 As if in answer
To the caw of a crow From the earliest time; now.
 Otherwise it is still and quiet;
 The only sign of man My own breath.

Winter woods

Still over the snowy pond
The old mountain train hoot
A modern sound

I am

In the words that condemn Him finally to the cross, Christ says (Luke 22:71) to the High Priest's question, "Are you then the Son of God?",that, "You are right in saying, "I am"". I am struck that this can have a double meaning. First, as declaring Christ as the First son of God, and second as saying to each of us, starting with the High Priest, that we are also Sons of God if we declare, "I am". This is the message God first gave us when on the mountain top with Moses he declared his name as "I am". Say you are part of God, believe in him, be with him, be born of him and you will become "I am". For "I am" is the light that came into the world, and that light is consciousness, knowledge, self-realization, the self not only of man, but of God and creation!

Cancun

Looking over the water,
The sunrise breaks through
Paltry clouds in a dozen beams
 Of particles that pulverize the darkness
 So I see from above
 Like a gull gliding in the wind,
 With the eye He gifted,
 The lighted world.
 The same eyes
that view that Beauty in the heart of woman
 Who yearns to hold onto one Last anchor
 before drifiting into the depth.
 Eyes that see in glimpses In the person and the thing
 The creation like the Creator
 Who watches over us
 To pull us up from the bottom That engulfs us
 And bring us into the New Day.
