Epiphanies
Today I had an Epiphany
Again
Not to say just twice today
But they have been frequent
The clouds were aligned
Swirling into the distance
In such a moment
As Moses parted the Sea
But it was only me
On a lonely hilltop
Overlooking the Archipelago
Lonely except for the presence of God
And my dog
Which filled the moment with Splendor
On my knees, spreading palms
To the sky, I gathered
The wind, the clouds and the water
Receiving more
Than the daily bread
For who would
Give a son a stone?
How much more then from
The King of this Glory
In my hands
Epiphanies are frequent
Even constant
In the soft pine,
Where the sunsets
Over the tall grass,
Or out among the white-capped sea.
I seem to know where to find them
And He certainly knows
Where to find me.
Again
Not to say just twice today
But they have been frequent
The clouds were aligned
Swirling into the distance
In such a moment
As Moses parted the Sea
But it was only me
On a lonely hilltop
Overlooking the Archipelago
Lonely except for the presence of God
And my dog
Which filled the moment with Splendor
On my knees, spreading palms
To the sky, I gathered
The wind, the clouds and the water
Receiving more
Than the daily bread
For who would
Give a son a stone?
How much more then from
The King of this Glory
In my hands
Epiphanies are frequent
Even constant
In the soft pine,
Where the sunsets
Over the tall grass,
Or out among the white-capped sea.
I seem to know where to find them
And He certainly knows
Where to find me.
